Jessica Biel Runs For Help In Latest Image From ‘The Tall Man’

Coming off the release of Lovely Molly Image Entertainment is putting Martyrs director Pascal Laugier’s The Tall Man in limited theaters on August 31. Starring Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie, William B. Davis and Samantha Ferris, we’ve now landed a brand new still, along with word that there’s an official website and Facebook.

Here’s the official plot crunch, with a trailer and poster forthcoming: “In an isolated, slowly dying mining town, children are vanishing without a trace – abducted, the townsfolk whisper, by a mysterious entity known locally as “The Tall Man.” Town nurse Julia Denning (Jessica Biel) seems skeptical…until her young David disappears in the middle of night. Frantic to rescue the boy, Julia lives every parent’s darkest nightmare in this twisting, shock-around-each-corner thriller.

It’s from the director of Martyrs, how can you not be excited?!

are we EVER getting a trailer for this? yes, i’d like to be excited but it’s really difficult to be when we don’t have a trailer.

I love martyrs so much even if I have no idea to this day what I watched lOL

Agree with D,J martyrs was fantastic… The only film in over 5 years to really have me freaked out when I lied in bed afterwards. But I could do with seeing something from this just to let me know its not another great horror director being intiste to Hollywood to churn out shit

Me every time I see something about this: Oh! The Tall Man! (click)…..Realize it’s not the Tall Man from Phantasm…..(walks away)

  • BelaManiac

I’d definately like to see a trailer before I judge it. I did love Martyrs though. We’ll see.

I’ve read reviews that this film is disappointing unfortunately. They do applaud the atmosphere and parts of the film so I’m a bit hopeful.

Saw this at SXSW and unless you want to be severely disappointed I would go into this movie with some low expectations. It is nowhere near as thought provoking or dark as ‘Martyrs’ and really just a pretty standard thriller. There is a ‘twist’ at the end that is really pretty dumb that tries to have a message sort of like ‘Martyrs’ (except about parenting…yes, I’m serious) but is so heavy-handed and unsure of what it really is trying to say. Felt like studio meddling or possibly last minute rewrites might have interfered.
