It’s difficult to believe Doom 3 came out eight years ago, but the fact that it’s already been long enough to warrant a remastered edition makes me feel old. It might not have been the revolutionary horror game many fans expected it to be, an expectation accumulated over the many, many years fans had to wait for it, but it was still an excellent action/horror game. Now Doom 3 is getting the remastered treatment with the BFG Edition, due this fall for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It will include some brand new levels, the Resurrection of Evil expansion, Doom 1 and 2, 3D support, 5.1 surround sound, and the ability to have a flashlight and a gun out at the same time. How sad is it that out of all those new features, the promise of a flashlight with all my guns is the one I’m most looking forward to? Head past the jump for the debut trailer!
