[Contest] Win A Deluxe Vinyl/DVD 40th-Anniversary Edition Of David Bowie’s ‘Ziggy Stardust’
Forty years ago yesterday, David Bowie (who also starred in The Hunger, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Labyrinth, The Prestige, and more) released what is now considered to be one of the most influential pop albums of all time: The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars. A concept album that tells the story of an alien in human being form that attempts to give humanity hope only to succumb to an excess of drug and sex. It is an album that, to this day, inspires and influences musicians and artists the world over.

Moonage Daydream
Rock’n'Roll Suicide.
Suffragette City
Lady Stardust…
(it’s made me cry)
Ziggy Stardust
rock n roll suicide.
every day.
5 years
Su Su Suffragette City!
Its always been between Suffragette City and Ziggy Stardust. Im going to have to go with Ziggy, its just more cosmic.
Starman
Starman is an excellent tune. One of many from the off-kilter collection of Bowie.
Suffragette City!
Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide
An anthem for the ages…
Wham bam thank you mam… Suffragette City!
Ziggy Stardust. Really disappointed they didn’t do the same with Hunky Dory, both are amazing albums.
Moonage Daydream!
The one, the only, the orgasmic Suffragette City
Rock and Roll Suicide, for sure. It speaks to you. You can’t really say that about pop music, but David Bowie is not from Earth.
Starman
Starman
Five Years.
Rock and Roll Suicide.
Hang On to Yourself
Starman
Five years! Still so moving!
Rock n roll suicide
Moonage Daydream
I’m going to say Soul Love, just because I don’t think anyone else has, but I lot the whole album.
Lady Stardust is my favourite song, not only off the album, but of David Bowie’s catalogue, overall. The lyrics are so different from anything on the radio today or in ’72–it paints such a sympathetic and endearing portrait of a gender-bending rockstar who saves and inspires with his music.
Whether or not the lyrics are self-aware, it’s a representation of Bowie himself and the way he has inspired multitudes with his music–myself included.
Wham, bam, thank you ma’am…Suffragette City!
It Ain’t Easy!!!
Starman
Rock n Roll Suicide, very basic in the beginning. Then it just keeps building…wonderful!
“Ziggy Stardust” – I believe it was written with Jimi Hendrix in mind.
Rock and roll suicide is by far the best!
The entire album is wonderful, but I would have to say my favorite off the album (and possibly all of his albums) is Lady Stardust.
Suffragette City
Man – all classic cuts – gotta go with the beautiful insanity of Moonage Daydream
Starman
<3
Starman!!!!!
It Ain’t Easy
Of course I’m a day late seeing this contest…But Moonage Daydream is it for me.
Lady Stardust always gives me chills!
