Two unreleased songs from deceased Alice In Chains singer Layne Staley will be surfacing in the upcoming film Grassroots. It is unclear as to when these track were recorded, what their titles are, or if they will be on the official soundtrack. So it seems like the best way to hear the songs is to actually see the movie, which is going to be tough as it will be a limited release.
The film, which is based on a true story, focuses on two music journalists who want to enter the political world regardless of their complete inexperience in the field. It stars Jason Biggs, Joel David Moore, Cobie Smulders, and Lauren Ambrose.
I’m a big Alice In Chains fan and am always up for hearing more material, even if it’s just Staley’s solo work. Bring it on, I say.
