Seventh Season Of “Dexter” Scores Ally McBeal, A New Poster And A Behind The Scenes Pic

Side note, the opening titles breakfast cooking sequence from “Dexter” always makes me hungry. Why can’t I make myself a breakfast like that? Weigh in when making your comment. Now onto the news, apparently Calista Flockhart (“Ally McBeal”, The Birdcage) will be in the first episode of the Seventh Season entitled, “Are You…?”. Nicholas Vigneau will make an appearance as young Dexter with Savannah Paige Rae (“Parenthood”) as young Debra.

We also have an image below the jump from the set of third episode of the season, “Buck the System”, that Jennifer Carpenter tweeted out with the description “Two dummies waiting to shoot….” Last but not least is the first poster from the upcoming season, which Dexter Daily got their hands on.

Kicking off the first of the probable final two seasons, Yvonne Strahovski will play Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her on the Michael C. Hall-Jennifer Carpenter serial killer drama. As Miami Metro reopens old cases, the department turns to her for assistance as Hall’s Dexter Morgan begins to wonder if there’s more to Hannah than what she reveals.

As previously reported, Katia Winter will play a Russian stripper who works at a Miami club and joins Season 7 newbies Jason Gedrick — who will play the manger of the same Miami strip club — and Ray Stevenson, who has been cast as the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate.

Head inside to check out the images. “Dexter” returns Sunday, September 30 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.

Dead Mail SXSW Dead Mail interview

One of the genre films we’re looking forward to checking out at SXSW this year is Dead Mail, written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy and premiering on March 9.

Meagan Navarro will be reviewing Dead Mail for Bloody Disgusting as part of her SXSW coverage, and she writes in her preview for the upcoming fest: “Dead Mail leans heavily into the ’80s analog aesthetic, delivering a unique crime thriller unafraid to get offbeat with its dark narrative. Expect its characters to be as atypical as Dead Mail‘s sense of style.”

In the SXSW 2024 horror film…

“On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled “dead letter” investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men’s home where Jasper lives.

“When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper’s office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it…”

Sterling Macer, Jr., John Fleck, Susan Priver, Micki Jackson, Tomas Boykin, and Nick Heyman star in Dead Mail. Preview the film with an exclusive image gallery below.
