It’s time to meet The Tall Man on the official theatrical one-sheet!

Arriving in theaters August 31 from Image Entertainment, Bloody landed your exclusive first look at the creeptastic poster that features star Jessica Biel (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blade: Trinity, Total Recall) being stalked by the legendary “Tall Man”.

Directed by Pascal Laugier of Martyrs fame, “In an isolated, slowly dying mining town, children are vanishing without a trace – abducted, the townsfolk whisper, by a mysterious entity known locally as “The Tall Man.” Town nurse Julia Denning (Biel) seems skeptical…until her young David disappears in the middle of night. Frantic to rescue the boy, Julia lives every parent’s darkest nightmare in this twisting, shock-around-each-corner thriller from acclaimed director Pascal Laugier.

Silent Hill‘s Jodelle Ferland also stars with Stephen McHattie (Pontypool, Watchmen), William B. Davis and Samantha Ferris.

Keep up on the film’s official website or Image’s Facebook.

the tall man design and poster looks so similar to “intruders”. Only exception is that in front of the “tall man” is jessica biel. Still will see this but…

I enjoy how when you click on the link for the website the title and signage looks an awful lot like the one for “The Thing” with the title and a menacing figure superimposed inside it.

The “Tall Man” is obviously based on the Slender Man creepypasta. A mysterious “entity” that looks like a tall man who abducts children… pretty similar. I kinda wonder why they didn’t call it “Slender Man” unless someone already had the copyrights to that name/story. I always thought there were many creepypasta that would be great base ideas for horror movies(or even an anthology television show). SCP stories(they also have a game called “Containment Breach”) were cool too. In concept, the ideas are very Twilight Zone/Tales from the Darkside-esque, dealing with things that are alien, interdimensional and supernatural. Of course, there’s some that are neither, like Jeff the Killer.

Isn’t the Tall Man the name of the bad guy in Phantasm???

  • KeepDoubting

It seriously blows my mind that we don’t have a trailer yet. Poster looks fantastic though.

Great minds think alike djblack1313 and KeepDoubting! Im sick of waiting for this film and The Lords Of Salem to both have real trailers while still waiting for release dates! Life here in N.Y. used to be great for everyone at one time now we just watch life go by on the internet and on t.v. LOL! How sad.

Lords of Salem doesnt have a real trailer. it has a bootlegged trailer

  • peepjerky

    But…it doesn’t look like Slender Man. :(

For those of you who keep asking about the trailer, a large percentage of them are usually released days after the official poster is released. Just like V/H/S, we got that cool skull poster and days later we were hit with an awesome trailer.
