Two weeks from today “The Walking Dead” #100 will grace comic and book store shelves everywhere. We all know the huge hype surrounding this huge issue, but it’s bigger than anyone thought. Thus far pre-order sales are estimated to be a whopping 350,000 copies. To top it off, the entire “Waking Dead” franchise (graphic novels, single issues, board game, etc.) now makes up half of Diamond’s entirety of products distributed. Without a doubt this is the most popular comic around these days. Get ready for it.
Bleeding Cool reported that people were afraid of the future of Diamond, saying that due to low comic sales, the company may be in danger. Apparently they now have “The Walking Dead” to thank for easing their worries away.
Although the pre-order sales are so massive, and hitting in time for San Diego Comic Con, you can be sure the book will sell out, and there will be a re-print. Who know how many issues Image will sell with this milestone.
