Back in the early 80s Jim Starlin wrote the first comic for Marvel’s Epic Comics imprint titled Dreadstar. The series became a seminal achievement, which paved the way for books like “Saga”, “Monocyte, and many others. “Dreadstar” follows the exploits of Vanth Dreadstar, the last survivor of the Milky Way galaxy. Along the way he and his crew attempt to end the long fought war between two evil empires. The series is a touchstone in sci-fi comics and an absolute must read for genre fans. Dynamite Comics is releasing the first omnibus edition this week and it’s well worth the $30 cover price.
