“Dr. Who” and Outcast star Karen Gillan is set to star in the supernatural pic Oculus for Intrepid, Variety reports.
Mike Flanagan will helm the pic that “centers on a murder that left two children orphans with authorities charging the brother while his sister believed that the true culprit was a haunted antique mirror. Now completely rehabilitated and in his twenties, the brother is ready to move on but his sister is determined to prove that the haunted mirror was responsible for destroying their family.”
Flanagan co-wrote the script with Jeff Howard. Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans will produce and are fully financing through Intrepid. Anil Kurian will executive produce for Intrepid. FilmDistrict is handling domestic distribution while Focus Features Intl. is handling foreign sales.
Production is set to start this fall.
