The Day has already picked up a few territories ahead of its first screening. It unspools tonight as part of TIFF’s “Midnight Madness” so maybe after it shows we’ll have word on domestic distribution!
“Content is delighted to announce Splendid has bought the German speaking Europe and Benelux rights to the post-apocalyptic war action/thriller feature THE DAY, directed by Doug Aarniokoski, written by Luke Passmore and produced by Guy A. Danella (‘The Fourth Kind’). The deal was made ahead of today’s first P&I Toronto screening.”
The Day stars “Shawn Ashmore (‘X-Men trilogy’), Ashley Bell (‘The Last Exorcism’), Michael Eklund (‘The Divide’), Cory Hardrict (‘Battle Los Angeles’, ‘Gran Torino’), Dominic Monaghan (‘The Lord of the Rings’, “Lost”), Shannyn Sossamon (‘A Knight’s Tale’, ‘Rules of Attraction’, ’40 Days & 40 Nights’) and is executive produced by Aarniokoski, Michael Finley, Tim James, Antonina Armato and Ross M. Dinerstein (‘The Pact’, ‘The Divide’, ‘The Killing Room’).”
