Our friends at Moviehole caught wind of something exciting that could easily mean absolutely nothing.
Warner Bros. Pictures has renewed Gremlins3.com last week, a domain they’ve owned since 2009.
Does this mean a third Gremlins is finally in the works? No. Does it mean that Warners plans on eventually making a third film? No. In fact, hording a domain name is common practice — you know, just in case.
Joe Dante has been extremely vocal about not expecting the studio to ever greenlight a sequel, although with modern technology it’s, IMO, extremely stupid to ignore such a “family friendly” franchise. If WB ever did bring Gizmo and company back to theaters, what would you like to see happen? I ask this knowing all too well that they’ll just remake it anyways…
