Jeff Wadlow, director of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, hinted that Jim Carrey has officially joined the cast for the upcoming sequel. Carey said he was a fan of the first film and since then has been linked to playing the role of Colonel Stars. Wadlow tweeted, “6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then! @ChloeGMoretz @MintzPlasse @donald_faison #kickass2.” Sounds like Carrey is onboard.
Christopher Mintz-Plasse responded to the tweet asking who got the part to which Mark Millar wrote, “Clue – he lives with 200 raccoons and parrots, owns the mask of Loki and named by Spielberg as a genius.”
All the stars of the original film are set to be on board with the addition of Lyndsy Fonseca, Yancy Butler, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Lindy Booth and Andy Nyman. Kick-Ass 2 is set for release on June 28, 2013.
