One week after being named one of Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch in 2012, Arbitrage star Nate Parker (pictured) has entered negotiations to reteam with his Red Hook Summer helmer Spike Lee for Good Universe’s Oldboy, reports Variety.
A remake of Chan-wook Park’s Korean revenge thriller, pic stars Josh Brolin as a man who is kidnapped and imprisoned for more than a decade for unknown reasons. Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House, Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Sharlto Copley (District 9) co-star.
Parker is in talks to play a doctor who works with Olsen.
Samuel L. Jackson is expected to take on a small but key role as the head of the motel where the protag has been held hostage, who is subsequently tortured for information.
