See The Dark New ‘RoboCop’ Of The Future In First Ever Images!
Directed by Jose Padilha, and starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Kenneth Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Michael Keaton, head inside for a trip to 2029 where the RoboCop project has been rebooted. Shooting has just begun, yet there are already paparazzi photos from the set. The new RoboCop is all black, which makes me wonder, will there be more than one new robot?
“In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilises their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.”
MGM and Sony will release in theaters August 9, 2013.

I’m excited for this film but the new suit looks kind of shitty!He looks like a Mass Effect Character.He doesn’t look Metallic or Robotic.
This suit fuckin sucks. Its to plastic looking. It should be grey not dark grey and metal looking I’m down for a change in suit but this is way to drastic.
I’m really excited for this movie but I wish they didn’t make him look like one of those GI Joe ninjas.
This suit looks terrible. Why does Robocop have a bird-chest? I didn’t think they were going to send accelerator suits into Detroit…
looks great! i love Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) so i’m going to see this mainly due to him.
Stick a cape and some pointy ears on him… *cough* really not a fan of the new look. Still excited though and will cling on to the hope that it’ll be good but this has deflated me somewhat

Looks like Robocop confiscated Batman’s suit. I wish you could see more of his face – I like that human element in the original.
Joel is the sh*t. But that suit is just sh*t. Once again the awesome movies of old are remade and advanced to absurdity. But then again I paid to see the new Total Recall. So……..
If the suit looked like the original you’d all have bitched too. Let’s wait til it comes out to trash it.

Funny thing about Robocop is I loved the movies as a kid (even had a giant poster of Murphy in my room), but the entire series doesn’t do anything for me now. I can’t even sit through an entire film now a days, and I hardly remember anything from each film (he had the jetpack in Robocop 3, right?).
I’m not saying they’re bad films at all, they just don’t do anything for me now.
But the reboot has Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson should provide another memorable performance as “the angry pissed off guy, who constantly throws temper tantrums” so I will take a chance on this next year.
Wow. Just when I had faith and high hopes in this movie with the amazing acting choices, this photo is released. He looks like Batman without horns or capes.
I’ll say this for the new look; it appears more functional than the original. It looks like he’ll actually be able to move. In the original suit Robo couldn’t actually walk up stairs(behind the scenes that is) and all his movements were slow and clunky (and that’s my only complaint about the original which sits in my top five films of all time). If you’re going to do this, do it right. A faster, more agile king hell bad ass Robo. I think they could’ve done this with the original color scheme, but it does make him look like a one man SWAT team.
I hope they keep the original theme song at least.
I’ll continue my nightly satanic prayers that something happens and this movie doesn’t get released, it will be absolutely terrible.

It’s the first time I’m hoping there is more cgi added. The suit is a total yawn and a disservice to the original.
I love how the leaked script makes fun of the old suit for looking too 80′s, but then they just made Batman.
New suit = FAIL!
new suit reminds me of some anime with robots in it, Kurtwood Smith could kick this Robocop’s ass.
