They haven’t done a great job of shooting the new RoboCop movie under the radar. Filming in Toronto, Canada, there have been more than a couple dozen behind-the-scenes images leaked, most creating negative buzz. While it’s been confirmed that we’ll see “multiple” versions of RoboCop, now played by Joel Kinnaman, fans don’t seem to dig the new “black” look. It gets worse for them today when you see him on set with his black bike. I don’t overreact to set photos (remember everyone losing their shit over the Anne Hathaway Catwoman images?) as I like to reserve judgement for the final product. Either way, here are some more paparazzi photos from set…
Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Kenneth Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Michael Keaton, Aimee Garcia all star in the Jose Padilha-directed reboot in theaters August 9, 2013.
“In ‘RoboCop,’ the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilises their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.“
