Fan made music videos are a tricky thing for me to watch. You see, most of the time, they’re very amateurish and are way too focused on doing exactly what the lyrics or the song title suggest without conveying it properly or in an interesting way. Sorry if I sound a bit elitist, but it’s kinda true.
But then there are those fan made videos that just blow my mind, making me wonder how these people even managed to find such a perfect way to convey the emotion and power of the song. And one such example was just sent to me.
Jeff Ray of Papertank Productions submitted a video for a contest held by Icelandic band Sigur Rós. Picked as one of the Top 5 finalists out of over 830 submissions, the video is a heartbreaking tale of a woman in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, waiting for her husband to return home. When he does…well, I’m not going to ruin it for you. I’ll say that the video takes inspiration from 28 Days Later and even a touch of The Walking Dead. Truly, it’s a video that I cannot recommend enough. I think I’ll watch it about five more times today. Now I just have to find out where I put my box of tissues…
