The Apocalypse Is Here! The Full Trailer For ‘World War Z’!!!

brad-pitt-world-war-z

This whole week we’ve been gearing up for war. Now we finally have the World War Z trailer. And, true to the footage we saw earlier, it looks huge. Definitely a very, very, very loose adaptation of the book. Back when running zombies were introduced to the horror vernacular I had no idea they’d eventually run so fast in film they’d look like cascading flood water. It almost feels like a Roland Emmerich touch. As for the rest of the trailer – it looks good, but nothing that I haven’t seen before in one way or another.

Directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), the adaptation of Max Brooks’ “World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War” stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox and David Morse.

In theaters June 21, 2013, “The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.

Head inside to check it out!!

Is it just me or do the zombies piss anyone else off? Looks pretty good tho

  • Samhain2010

Brad Pitt is my pick for Caesar in the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

  • Kroork

Looks like I am legend 2. Kinda looks boring. I think I’ll pass

  • NeverAskWhosThere

I don’t understand how you can make a zombie movie and not have it be bloody or gory? Don’t get me wrong, it looks awesome I just had higher hopes that this movie would have more of a horror feel than action/adventure feel

  • Aaron Emery

Damn shaky cam! Could be alright, maybe.

    • Aaron Emery

Okay, so now that I’m in a better mood and not grumpy, a second look at this trailer gave me a completely different view. It actually looks pretty damn great! And yes the CG is easy to pick out (I immediately knocked off points) but its not because it looks bad, it actually looks quite well done, they don’t look like I Am Legend shite anyway. And now after a miserable day here I am talking to myself, please, somebody join me! No really though I said on the Warm Bodies trailer earlier that I’ve been burnt out on zombie flicks (my least favorite sub-genre) but now I’m looking forward to seeing two next year.

  • djblack1313

i’m sorry but THIS LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME!!! i’m so in!! i wrote this movie off 10 months ago when i learned it was PG-13 and that it was going to be nothing like the book but this looks amazing! i’m dislike CGI so much but i honest think the CGI zombie parts in this looks perfect! i love also (A LOT!) that they seemed to have done something new-ish regarding the zombies and how they behave (like insects or schools of fish when they swim). that shot of the zombies exploding/overflowing over the bus is nothing less than stunning.

that being said i DO NOT think this should be called WWZ. i’d rather have a more faithful adaptation of that book. since Danny Boyles rumored 28 MONTHS(?)LATER doesn’t seem to be happening i’m pretending WWZ is that movie. i also don’t know how they are going to show zombies being killed (a head shot/trauma) as well as victims of the zombies.

    • doomas10

same thing here! i love the massive scope and that literally chaos ensure with zombies running in order to eat human flesh – thus ending up in crazy situations where buses are flipped, choppers are going down! That massive pile at the end is so disturbing…Do not know why but I am hyped for this!

Wish it had more of a horror feel to it but I’m pretty excited for this

  • carlos.filipe

Well i’ve read the book, it’s a fantastic example of totally original end-of-the-world-with-zombie literature, the first thing that came to mind was a Interview with the vampire meets waling dead, since the main character who goes to many diferent parts of the world after the apocalypse, and INTERVIEWS the survivors by recording their experiences… well… the trailer showed me, ‘i am legend’ without will smith… nuff said?

  • Zombie-Killa

More zombies? Oh, well this Brad Pitt, and the trailer is incredible. Not familiar with the source material, can’t wait until June!

    • DR.MURDERSUCKS

Really with a name like zombie killa i’m shocked bet you love the day of the dead remake Hu?

      • Zombie-Killa

LOL! I didn’t even realize that until you brought it up. Oh, the irony!

And no, I’ve never been able to get into the Day Of The Dead remake (watched it about two or three times over the years, and it still sucks each time), and I usually enjoy anything with Ving Rhames.

  • FreddyKrueger13

    This looks amazing!

  • KaiSan

Only going to see it if it’s R-rated.

  • Klepto4

Zombies to the extreme I guess, I don’t know how endless aerial shots of millions of zombies tripping over themselves is gonna hold my interest and not get too boring and repetitive. Yeah we have had many many (too many) zombie/infected movies that have had the gore. So it may well rejuvenate a very jaded genre and be something that ‘I am legend’ should have been. But there is something very off putting about any Zombie movie without gore, it’s like Rambo negotiating the release of POW’s over a civilised boardroom meeting whilst dishing out pizza.

  • turtlenipple

Man, this is one of my fav book, so I don’t know what to think. I am very excited for the movie. So terrified I’ll hate this. If it’great, I hope they make more where the zombies have slowed down and they actually do some slowburn stuff from the book..

  • Dr.murder

This movie looks like shit. There is an obvious reason why hollywood can keep making this crap. Cause the idiots on this forum keep sucking it up. This movie will suck and the only difference is my wallet will be heavier than yours after its out.

    • doomas10

We do not sucking it up. We just have a different opinion than yours.

    • IceNiner

You’re one of the few Horror fans here that shares my opinion, Dr. Murder.
I cruise this site and a couple other ‘horror’ (actually sites featuring what only passes for horror-stuffed with shite about ‘Twilight’ and ‘Hunger Games’ makes you more of only a general tween movie site IMO) and almost everything coming out, prequel, remake, sequel, and derivative ripoff movie or TV show looks like absolute pure shit.
Thank God an intelligent person with taste can still get a horror fix from Edward Lee or Wrath James White book (you know, with actual real horror in it?) instead of having to suck up the pablum that the PG-13 “Paranormal Activity”-loving crowd, in their ignorance think ‘looks cool’ or even worse they say “this movie looks like shit, but I’ll pay to see it anyway”. Also so good that we can get real horror from overseas as well. Hollywood and American Media in general does not care to come up with quality material because the tween/younger audience of today DO NOT DEMAND QUALITY!!!
      I salute you, Dr. Murder.

  • Ravinus

Lame. World War Z, the book, is horror. This is garbage. Fuck you hollywood and fuck you brad pitt for funding this bullshit. This looks awful.

  • Remember-Slithis

Never heard of the book!I don’t get a I am Legend vibe at all. This looks cool but dosen’t blow me away. The hordes of Zombies do have a cool effect.I guarantee all the haters will end up seeing it too!

  • DR.MURDERSUCKS

I just took a dump and would rather watch that for an hour than this travisty!

  • ThunderDragoon

    This looks terrible.

  • PatrickxJonathan

Everyone seems to have some pretty low standards. I’d rather watch two girls one cup than sit through this I Am Legend 2 bullshit.

  • Nothing333

Are there even zombies in this? They just look like ordinary people. After the trailer I’m not sure I’m into Brad Pitt’s Contagion part two with tsunami people zombies.

  • Mives

I hate the Human swarm effect. Normal, living breathing Olympic athletes couldn’t do it, don’t understand how rotting corpse’s could. No blood or gore? Really? You get turned in this film by playing tag? Sometimes a PG13 rating just doesn’t fit the lore of the genre.

I love, however, the large scale global feel and we finally get to experience the outbreak from the outset. The Great Panic in HD and 40 foot high. Noice!

  • En_Noir

I was holding out making any judgements about this film until I saw a trailer. It looks interesting, but nothing really relatable to the book…which is really disappointing. It could have been the movie to really set the genre to greatness. This just looks like a I am legend prequel or something. meh

  • Rusted

This looks like complete shite. I Am Legend Part 2, if you will. No blood or gore and the zombies look like normal people. I’ll pass.

  • http://www.facebook.com/FPJ666 FPJ666

I’m on the fence….. Looks like it might possibly be the highest budget zombie picture ever…. but the trailer really doesn’t give much of a plot or story…. besides the fact that there is zombies, and no one wants to die….

This has been established and failed in many other B or C grade zombie films. But at least they had the gore to go with it….. We don;t even see one zombie in a closeup?

    I’ll still check it out….

  • http://www.facebook.com/FPJ666 FPJ666

looks like a movie where brad Pitt runs from olympic runners for 2 hrs…

  • TheWalkingFlat

You Kids just fuck it up with your comments about WWZ but ur watchin Resident Evil and Underworld huh ?
Just a big LOL for ya retarded narrow minded people.
Not every apocalyptic Zombie Move has to be with much Gore and Blood. Like the Walking dead its possible to get that atmosphere without.
Everyone yelling like little girls now and at the end of the day you all have watched that movie…
    Im excited about that movie…
So stfu and just give it a try ;-)

  • diapers

Hey, I’ll watch it, it looks entertaining. It almost looks like two different movies. I wonder if that is the re-write and re-shoot shining through. Anyhoo, I am leery of big budget intrusions into the genre, but am willing to give it a try. For some reason, Brad Pitt’s hairdo annoys the crap out of me, though… it will be hard to put that aside.

  • Tay-of-the-Dead

I’ll probably stream it online if I get bored and I’ve already watched any movies I actually want to see. Only out of curiosity because this trailer looks pretty awful. I don’t think “adaptation” of the book is the right word here. “Abortion,” maybe? “Bastardization,” at least.

  • BabyJaneHudson

Looks like a fun end of the world disaster movie. Much more of an action than a horror vibe. Obviously nothing like the book, but we haven’t really seen a zombie film played out on a worldwide scope – usually its single location or single country with a couple of blurry newscasts about the rest of the world. There’s potential. A popcorn flick for sure.

  • undertaker78

Hell Yeah! This is going to be epic. Bring it on.

  • Evil_Flip

seriously why bother calling them zombies? I’m mean the trailer looks ok, but it feels like they made a movie about humanity going bezerk, but pretend they are zombies so they can cash in on the success of the ‘genre’. It’s like making a movie about a bunch of hairy people, but calling them werewolves just to sell more tickets.

  • MasqueoftheRedDeath

For those upset the movie doesn’t parallel the book, it helps to disentangle one from the other. The movie doesn’t do anything to the book. It still exists the same way as before, and you can read it anytime you want. No movie ever will fully parallel a book. And many, apparently WWZ included, are only “inspired by” or “based on.”

  • sweetooth

Let’s just call a spade a spade shall we. This looks like exactly what it is: a bloated, over budgeted, over reworked and interfered with hunk of studio garbage.

This has NOTHING to do with World War Z. A Zombie movie with a PG-13 movie CANNOT be good, no matter how much fucking money you throw at it. CG Zombies flowing into cities like tidal waves and scaling walls like the insects in Starship Troopers is fucking dumb.

I hope this shit bombs horribly, but I know it won’t because there are too many idiots who’d pay to see a movie with Brad Pitt in it even if all it entailed was him taking a shit for 3 hours.

    Fuck this shit.

    • WalkingDeadGuy

Tell us how you really feel.

  • Taboo

Loving the look of this one

  • violentdope

Brad Pitt is a good actor, but im not too sure about this.Trailer didnt make we want to rush out and see it.

  • flesheater24

could we stop calling them zombies please. they are infected people. Unless i see them eat some skin and brains and intestines. I hope they fix the CGI too. its to cartoonish like it would be scary as fuck if they could run really that fast but the over use of CGI kills it and makes it laughable. I hope for a nice R too. But we’ll prob get a watered down PG-13. If they dropped the whole running zombies(excuse me infected people) and had it be like contagion and show people evoling into these infected people. it would be scarier and more believable I watched the tailer 3 times i was so stoked and pumped until the massive shit storm of CGI infected people came crawling in. So I say maybe, just maybe they can change this. Doubtful. but I’ll still see it because I love massive moves and I love end of the world movies.

  • lucie-with-a-gun

so do the zombies eat you or do they make of you stampeded road kill?

  • TheWalkingFlat

If those white infected people are fast…how fast the black infected people will be ?
    2015 in Cinemas:
“World War Z – The Olympic Games. Running and climbing only”
    :)

  • tisbored

This trailer looks crappy, my expectations for this movie has dropped considerably…

  • aus10

Read the book and loved it. Have been anxiously awaiting and trailer and it’s finally here. Wow, what a let down. And is it true that it’ll be PG13? If so, what so bullshit. As a movie by itself, without the WWZ name…maybe. But definitely not with the WWZ name. Let down.

  • Alex † Von’Fratt

Looks pretty dope, if you ask me.

  • Murdock408

Wow it seems to be getting really mixed reactions, I feel like the film is as well. I’m personally very excited, although I know it is not going to be a faithful adaptation of the text, the hordes of thousands of zombies take on things looks awesome enough for me!

  • Marty McFly

As long as it’s not like the stupid live action Resident Evil movies chock full of lame ass CGI garbage, people doing sixty backflips through the air in slow motion, running down the sides of buildings, basically making a mockery of the games…. I fucking love the Resident Evil games. RE 2, 3, 4 and 6 are fucking incredible and I’ve beaten them all (finishing Ada’s campaign on RE6 now, haven’t beat RE1 and fucking hated RE:OPRC and Code Veronica, haven’t played the other DS ones… and part 5 was alright, but not as good as 6) Anyway, getting back on topic here, World War Z looks good but it better not be CGI infested and stupid. I want atmosphere and creepiness. Almost like I Am Legend minus the CGI crap.

  • joeyskin

brad pitt and a stonkingly good horror just like a porno for me excellent bring on summer 2013
