According to Rolling Stone, a new album from famed guitarist Jimi Hendrix, who passed away in 1970, will be coming out on March 5th, 2013. Entitled People, Hell, And Angels, the 12-track collection features completely unreleased tracks during Jimi’s “new and experimental” writings apart from The Experience. Hendrix apparently decided to go into new directions, toying with horns, keyboards, and percussion as well as layering guitars with a second track. Supposedly, these tracks were supposed to be included on the double album follow up to Electric Ladyland, First Rays Of The New Rising Sun. You can check out the cover art below.
I’ll fully admit that I was never that into Hendrix. I will never say that his work didn’t influence the very shape of modern music but it’s just not something I really got into. However, I’m feeling a stirring that I need to give it another shot. Maybe a few years will make all the difference?
