HURT And Smile Empty Soul Cover Alice In Chains’ “No Excuses”

Smile Empty Soul and current tourmates HURT have recorded a cover of the classic Alice In Chains song “No Excuses”, which originally appeared on the Jar Of Flies EP. According to Flint, MI’s Banana 101.5, who premiered the track, the track will be made available for download at some point in the future with the proceeds likely going to a benefit or charity. You can listen to the track here.

Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of the cover. Then again, I’m a big fan of AiC, so it’s pretty hard to please me in that regard. Still, I can tell that they remained true to the source material and the very fact that they covered the song shows that they have a passion and respect for the band. Just not my cup o’ tea.
