Japanese prog metal band Dir En Grey has released an incredibly odd yet visually arresting video for their new single “Rinkaku”. The video is made up entirely of black and white drawings that are placed close enough to create a semblance of movement. However, it’s still very disjointed. Oh, and did I mention that it’s also incredibly twisted? Five faces melt out of paintings and flood a room with their flesh. A bird watches in terror as its body lays there in a state of decomposition. And more. Basically, it’s a great way to start off your Monday if you want to feel a bit odd and out of place.
As for the song, it’s immediately identifiable as Dir En Grey. Something about their guitar tone and atmosphere are just so unique. And if that wasn’t enough, Kyo’s voice cinches the deal. Check it out below.
