Justin Dix’s Crawlspace will be available in select theaters, on IFC Midnight Cable VOD & Digital Outlets (SundanceNOW, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, XBOX Zune, Playstation Unlimited) on Friday, January 4, 2013.

From producer Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) , “Deep in the heart of the unforgiving Australian desert lies Pine Gap, a top-secret government facility operated by the United States military. When the base comes under attack from unknown forces, an elite team is sent in to extract the military scientists. They encounter a beautiful young woman with no memory of how she came to be in the base, and find it overrun by disturbed patients from the base’s medical sector. But as the squad delves deeper it becomes clear that there is something far more sinister – and far more dangerous – going on at Pine Gap.

“In this space everyone can hear you scream.” The poster serves as an important reminder for any filmmaker. If you can’t come up with something original, it’s always best to avoid ripping off a classic that is invariably going to be better than what you will produce. This horribly derivative tagline only makes me think of Alien and how Crawlspace is doomed by comparison.

True, but this tagline may have come from the marketing people or some cocky producer (you know those people who like to ruin original stuff in favor of making money), not the film makers themselves. I’ll watch this, just because I truly adore Wolf Creek (though being from a producer from that film doesn’t necessarily mean much).

This looks like absolute butt hole!

this is strange, an old acquaintance of mine from high school wrote and directed a film by the same name that comes out in 2013
