The Trailer For ‘Scary Movie 5′ Makes Me Want To See ‘A Haunted House’ Even More
If you recall, the Wayans brothers are the ones who kick started the Scary Movie franchise with their spoof of Scream back in 2000. After two hilarious films, David Zucker took over and turned it into a pop culture bonanza littered with bad fart jokes. With Dimension’s premiere of the Scary Movie 5 trailer, in theaters April 12, it appears to be more of the same, which is why I’m beyond stoked to see Marlon Wayans’ A Haunted House on January 11. Spring 2013 is going to be a battle of the spoof films, yet I already suspect that A Haunted House got it right. What do you say?
“In the film, snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French dance company director Pierre is putting on a new production. Jody (Tisdale), a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra (Ash) are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry (Shannon), gets cut from the production and goes berserk.”

It actually doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would look, but I still wouldn’t pay full money to see it. If they took out Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan, some of the slapstick humor, and if the movie didn’t look so cheap, it’d probably be like at least a 1.5/4-rating worthy movie.
The Wayans should start making Scary Movies again since the guy who directed the last three were terrible

Personally, I’ll take this over A Haunted House. I actually like Ashley Tisdale, and the Lindsay/Charlie scene looks like it might be comical.
I actually didn’t think SM3 was all that bad. It had some funny moments, even if it felt watered down next to the first two. 4 was trash, and this looks even worse. I didn’t think A Haunted House looked all that great either, but it looks award-winning when compared to this.
what the hell happened to the zucker brothers, they used to make classics. and for some reason I now want to watch Beetlejuice.
I actually don’t mind all the Scary Movies, but that uh, that looks pretty awful.

This looks unbelievably bad. Almost as bad as A Haunted House, which looks somehow WORSE than Scary Movie 2 (IMO the worst one of the bunch). When will people remember that making a “spoof” means more than winking at the audience with a shit-eating grin and saying “HA! Remember this? Remember this bit of pop-culture?”

The first Scary Movie was epic, and it went down pretty bad in the sequels. Probably Scary Movie 5 is gonna be the worst among them. I just don’t know it A Haunted House is going to be better, although they got Marlon Wayans, who is the reason I loved Scary Movie and liked Scary Movie 2.
