When Swedish indie rock band Shout Out Louds decided to release “Blue Ice”, the first single from their upcoming album Optics, they decided to think a little outside of the box. What they did was send 10 lucky fans and publicists each a box that contained a kit to make a record that would give the listener a chance to hear their new single before anyone else. As you’ve probably guessed from the headline above, the listener had to make the record out of ice. It’s a really fascinating experiment and it fits the title of the track perfectly. Below is a video that documents exactly what was required as well as the full song in “ice audio”. Also below is the official video. Definitely one of the coolest (ZING!) things I’ve seen in a while.
