R.J. Cutler And Chloe Moretz Would Like It ‘If I Stay’

I’m not sure if this movie is for us. As of right now it’s just barely straddling the line, but let’s see how it all shakes out and then we’ll decide if we keep covering it once more info comes in, cool? Per Variety, R.J. Cutler (“Nashville”, Sundance doc “The World According To Dick Cheney“) is in talks to direct his first narrative feature, and it’s a whopper. He’ll likely be helming Summit Entertainment’s new thriller If I Stay, which is a supernatural pic with Chloe Moretz (Let Me In, Carrie) attached.

The film will be based on Gayle Forman’s novel which, “ follows 17-year-old Mia as she deals with the aftermath of a catastrophic car accident involving her family. In a coma, Mia has an out-of-body experience, and watches as friends and family gather at the hospital where she is being treated. Mia watches as her memories flash before her eyes as she comes to realize that she must decide if she is to wake up and lead a life far more difficult than she ever anticipated, or to slip away and die.

Sounds like it’s very much in the Moretz wheelhouse.

Chloe Moretz should win some kind of award for the most creepy and disturbing child actress. Yikes, that picture gives me the creeps, and her pics as Carrie are more terrifying. lol.

Sounds like a good movie, and I’ll check it out.

Yeah Zombie-Killa. It’s like she is beautiful but at the same time she looks freaky in a way. I’m gonna check this movie out when it’s out. I love The Lovely Bones!

Sounds like a mix between ‘The lovely bones’ and the second half of ‘Million dollar baby’. I’ll give it a chance.

i think i might check this out. ive looooved chloe mortez ever since kickass. her acting is always on point, so im deffinatly going to give this a chance.

    • Amen. I’ve been religious to her since Kick-Ass. I’ve seen every of her films since that movie.

If only these child actresses would never grow old. They’re very likable when they’re young. Once they reach their 20s, it’s easy to hate them. I like Lindsay Lohan when she was a child. So sad she has become the person she is now…

  • Kenzo

Chloe is really dope. But I agree with Ress. Once these child/teen stars get into their 20’s they loose their damn minds. I hope that doesn’t happen to her.

    • Ress EZ

If she eventually becomes Lindsay Lohan, then I will lose my mind! I still have faith in Dakota Fanning. Please don’t turn into a monster (that we hate).

  • The novel is amazing, one of my favourites, and I know Chloe will do an amazing job 🙂

BUT I must warn everyone that this is in no way a horror or a thriller. It’s a tragic drama about loss and choices. It’s a beautiful novel, and I only hope the film does it justice.
