Jolene Purdy (pictured above; “Glee”, Donnie Darko) and Nicholas Strong (“Nashville”) have been cast in “Under The Dome,” CBS’ 13-episode summer series from Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. Per Deadline, “Purdy will play Dodee, a brilliant, eccentric engineer at the local radio station who will draw on her unique skills in an effort to make contact with the world outside the dome. Strong will play Phil, a popular radio DJ and indie rock fanatic, a charismatic figure with a dark secret.”
They join Britt Robertson, Natalie Martinez, Colin Ford and Alex Koch.
Based on King’s bestselling novel, “On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when — or if — it will go away.”
“Under The Dome” starts on Monday, June 24 and will air in the Monday 10 PM slot.
