More Behind-the-Scenes Looks At ‘Insidious: Chapter 2′

Writer and star Leigh Whannell, as well as director James Wan shared the following behind-the-scenes pic from the now-filming Insidious: Chapter 2, which FilmDistrict will release on August 30, 2013.

Whannell shared a look at Tucker, Specs’ partner in crime, and one half of the ghost hunting duo from the first film.

Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Ty Simpkins, Barbara Hershey, Angus Sampson, Andrew Astor all star in the pic directed once again by James Wan.

As she did in the first Insidious, Oscar-nominated Hershey will play the role of Lorraine Lambert, the mother to Patrick Wilson’s Josh Lambert and the grandmother to the demon-possessed boy Dalton.

1st pic is pretty spooky, the other twos? Meh.

Besides making more money, I’m still baffled by the decision to make another Insidious film. I enjoyed Insidious, but when the dad traveled to the other dimension or alternate universe to rescue his son, the movie just lost me. The trip to the demon’s world, or whatever the fuck you want to call it, just KILLED everything for me.

How can a sequel to a financially successful genre film be surprising?

Oh, I understand the financial success part, that’s why I said “Besides making more money.” I just don’t see the NEED for another Insidious film, and I was just trying sneak a little pun in the previous post. Should’ve tacked on a “lol” to be more obvious and clear.

          Got ya lol.

I’m really anxious to see how Patrick Wilson and Lin Shaye’s characters are going to return in this one. If they join forces in “the further” and come back to our side to take care of business….oh man…that will be hard to watch.

I really liked the first one, but yeah, the second half where the dad went to the alternate universe… it did take a somewhat sour turn. Overall though, it was one of the better and (gasp!) actually scary movies to come out in years.

I loved insidious and I’m looking forward to this but i don’t know how they’ll continue the story.
