There Will (Also) Be A Sequel To The Nazi-Zombie Horror ‘Dead Snow’

The EFM is destroying my Saturday morning as I’m stuck reporting on various, unnecessary horror sequels that I will be the first in line to see. Unnecessary? Ok, I should shut my mouth.

Writer and director Tommy Wirkola, who saw his studio debut Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters hit theaters last month, is returning to his native Norway to direct the action-filled Dead Snow: War of the Dead, reports Screen Daily.

Set to be released in both English and Norwegian, the new film follows the sole survivor of a Nazi zombie attack who battles an even larger army of Zombies with the help of the Zombie Squad, a professional gang of zombie killers from the US.

The film is a sequel to Wirkola’s successful cult hit Dead Snow, which premiered at Sundance in 2009. I really disliked the first film, although I thought Wirkola’s heart was in the right place. Hopefully, this time around, he’ll knock it out of the park.

Wirkola says of the new script: “[It's] bigger, scarier, funnier, more action-filled and gorier than the previous one.

i love the first film, i loved HANSEL & GRETEL and i can’t wait for this sequel! Tommy Wirkola, keep ‘em coming! :)

I haven’t seen Hansel and Gretel, tbh the trailers didn’t do a thing for me. What kinda mindset should I be in and what were your thoughts dude?

  • Ravinus

Great news. Dead Sno was great. I have respect for any zombie flick with a blumpkin scene. The sequel will have a tall wall to climb but I think Wirkola has what it takes.

    • mikeknowskarate

well said. the only way the blumpkin scene could of been better is if the dude was eating wings while wearing a beer helmet. that’s my personal goal.

Loved Dod Sno. Bring it on!

  • STRIK9

Hope it has more action than the first.I could’ve EASILY edited out 50 minutes of that film.

Give me another scene thats as awesome as the guy cutting off part of his arm and cauterising it and I’ll be happy. Oh, and for those who haven’t scene ‘Dead Snow’ yet, thats not one of the greatest parts of that scene yet.

What about the scene when the blond slob guy hooks up with that chick, in the damn outhouse, sitting on the can, right after taking a shit???

      • dirtyghettok

Not. For Sure. If toooo, take that, seriously? Anyways, speaking more of whats to come very soon after what I wrote and I’ll leave it at that.

I seen this a few months back and thought it had great make up but overall thought the film was kind of lame…not the worst I seen but not really very good.

  • mikeknowskarate

of course mr. disgusting didn’t like this movie. he’s just pissed he couldn’t put this out. it would’ve been the 1st good release bloody disgusting has done.

  • ThunderDragoon

Loved the first one. Excited for this.

  • betweentheatoms

can’t wait to see this movie. First one was an instant classic.

  • Nothing333

Dod 1 was a great, camp masterpiece. Hope 2 lives up to it.

  • lovezoid

Did anyone see ‘Iron Sky’, about the moon-nazi-zombies? A little bit hit-and-miss but fun, and a really good-looking movie for what I’m guessing was a pretty low budget.

  • undertaker78

Dead Snow was pretty darn fun. I never expected a sequel so I’m super excited. Bring it on.
