[TV] “The Following” Must Have Some Following Since It Just Got Renewed

I still haven’t gotten past the pilot of “The Following”, but apparently a lot of you have! Per Variety, “Warner Bros. TV’s “The Following” bowed strongly in January in the Monday 9 p.m. timeslot, and sees benefits from Live+7 ratings (particularly DVR use), which places the frosh drama in the No. 2 broadcast drama spot this season in 18-49. Fox ordered 15 episodes for its second season, the same order as its first run.

The FBI estimates there are currently over 300 active serial killers in the United States. What would happen if these killers had a way of communicating and connecting with each other? What if they were able to work together and form alliances across the country? What if one brilliant psychotic serial killer was able to bring them all together and activate a following? Welcome to “The Following”, the terrifying new thriller from creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Dawson’s Creek,” the Scream franchise) and director Marcos Siega (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Dexter”).

“The Following” airs Monday nights on Fox at 9/8c.

I find this a cut above most of the dreck on network TV but I have to think they need to wrap this arc up and start something new to make a second season even remotely appealing.

It is an okay show. Sorta horrory. Kevin Williamson references his other works so that is something to look out for like the HalloweeN: H20 ceiling drop down.

I gave up on this at the 3rd episode when all they keep doing ( with very lazy writing ) is make anyone they want to, at any given time, be part of it all….At every turn, there’s someone becoming bad, it just becomes stupid.

I love this show so much. It’s one of my new favorites. So happy it got renewed! I agree with the first commenter. They can’t keep up this “Joey’s kidnapped” storyline for much longer. Hopefully they have everything planned out already. If not, we’re in trouble.
