Massive Image Gallery and UK Quad For Rob Zombie’s ‘The Lords of Salem’

Lords of Salem

In UK cinemas April 26 from Momentum Pictures is Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, which stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bruce Davidson, Jeffrey Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Gleeson, Meg Foster and Griffin Boice. Check out our new image gallery, along with a pretty friggin’ cool quad poster.

From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. The Lords of Salem tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a “gift from the Lords.” Heidi listens, and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the “Lords of Salem” returning for revenge on modern-day Salem?

Here’s my review out of TIFF, as well as Mike’s more positive take. The Lords Of Salem is in limited theaters (New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Detroit) April 19 from Anchor Bay Films.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! UK release date! I am there! April is sweeter now!!!!!! Finally, I thought we wouldn’t get it. I am a massive Rob Zombie fan – for me he is a legend – and I love his films. Yes even the Halloween ones. I actually loved his remake take and personally, there are some real merits to be enjoyed in H2 – Annie’s death scene anyone? So brutal and yet you do not witness the violence nor the horror :P

I agree. I recently watched the entire Halloween series in sequence and Halloween 2, despite its weirdness, definitely comes out as one of the most interesting and entertaining entries. The Halloween remake is Rob Zombie making a ‘Halloween’ film; Halloween 2 is Rob Zombie making ‘Halloween’ a ‘Rob Zombie’ film. It has a lot of flaws but it’s refreshing to see someone actually take ownership of the characters and have a swing for something different.

count me in too guys! i actually love his H2! i love how weird (in a good way!)/outside the box it is. and doomas10, SO TRUE regarding Annie’s death. there’s like no visual showing the attack/death but yet thanx for horrifying audio, it is incredibly effective and terrifying.

i’m looking forward to LORDS. one thing Zombie almost always does amazingly well is visuals/cinematography and this movie continues his talent.

exactly! annie’s death should be regarded in my opinion one of the greatest moments in horror history. it was unique, brutal and effective and you actually cared for her since she survived the massacre in the first film. Surely his script abilities need some improvements but it is good to see someone out there trying different stuff and keep challenging himself!

I am stealing your comment about Rob making a halloween film and rob making a halloween film a rob zombie film. Couldn’t be summarized more perfectly!

  • Boonraiser

You guys all being fans of Rob’s will definitely like this movie. It has it’s flaws, but they definitely aren’t in the visuals or sound, (thanks John 5). I know it had very mixed reviews from TIFF, but I quite enjoyed it. Ambitious indeed.

Boonraiser, that’s awesome to hear! :)

J5 in the soundtrack:D I seriously cannot wait for this film. I am trying not to be built hype but… god-damn it, I can’t!

I can’t wait for this! I absolutely LOVE H2, I’ve seen it several times and Annie’s death (director’s cut) gets me every time. I’ve said it a million times “you don’t see death scenes that powerful in slashers, ever” and I stand by it. That whole movie was batshit and I adore just for that. Zombie did his own thing with it and it worked!

I wish this movie just didn’t have a poster though. They all suck! I had some hope when I saw the thumbnail for the quad but upon a further look it’s pretty bad. As for the other images, Zombie sure knows how to shoot a fucking scene. I love the visuals he provides. I actually really liked the first half of H1 and he nailed the tone there too. The scene with the bully’s death was one of the grittiest, rawest death sequences in recent memory. And it didn’t really show much, just sound and atmosphere!

I think in the Halloween films he didn’t show much anyways. He has been accused for glorifying splatter but especially in h2 we see all the times the silouettes and the movements not the actual bloodshed. But it is graphic at least to hear the slashing sounds and creepily designed audio. That on my book makes it more terrifying.

I really like some of the teaser posters. I’m yet to actually see one for sale. I do like the UK Quad better than the official US poster though.

  • Ravinus

Cool poster. You can never go wrong with skulls on a black background.

    Yes please.
