Judy Greer Gets Mo-Capped For Cornelia Role In ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’

Coming off Carrie, Judy Greer, pictured below, will be donning a motion-capture suit to play the female chimp Cornelia in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to Twentieth Century Fox’s 2011’s hit franchise reboot Rise of the Planet of the Apes, reports Vulture.

Says the site, Cornelia was briefly introduced in the first film (where she was played by dancer Devyn Dalton) as a potential love interest to Andy Serkis’s lead ape Caesar, but the role will be expanded in the Matt Reeves–directed sequel, which has already enlisted Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and Gary Oldman to play some of the new human characters.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, in theaters May 23, 2014, continues the story of how ultra-intelligent simian Caesar (Andy Serkis) presides over the fall of human civilization. After the apes break out of their facility, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society. The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.
