Invade The Rich With This ‘Elysium’ Trailer!!!

elysium

District 9 director Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming dystopian epic Elysium, starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, finally has a trailer. It’s been around 9 months since I saw the footage at SDCC, but it was so fun and unique the film hasn’t strayed far from my radar since then. This trailer does a great job of selling the gleaming sci-fi rich vs. the teeming poor masses thing, but it doesn’t really indicate how splattery this movie is (or at least the bits I’ve seen). It is Blomkamp, after all.

In theaters August 9, “In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, William Fichtner, Alice Braga and Diego Luna also star. Head inside to check it out!

Looks great. District 9 was cool.

  • Zombie-Killa

Cool trailer, but I never think of Damon as an action type guy. Still, plan on watching this, though.

Have you seen The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum,Green Zone.

I think what makes Damon such a great “action type guy” is he comes across very vulnerable and believable. I think the Bourne Trilogy is amazing..I wish he would be doing those films.

        • grayghost

          **keep doing those films

Spike, yes I’ve seen Green Zone, but no I haven’t seen any Bourne films. I keep promising myself I’m going to watch them, but I always forget! Hope I’m not missing anything special! So yeah, I guess you could say I’m uneducated, when it comes to Damon’s action track record. But I’ll try and watch the Bourne films before this! For me, Good Will Hunting is always the first film that comes to mind, when anyone mentions Damon! lol.

Not shittin on ya Zombie Killa, but yeah, the Bourne movies RULE!! Even though I own all of them, once I see one on the tube, that’s it, I’m done flicking the channels…Especially the first one.

          • Zombie-Killa

Haha! It’s cool, K-Dogg! I’m sure I’ll enjoy them when I watch, and hopefully I won’t forget this time.

If you could only see the “YOU’VE NEVER SEEN A BOURNE FILM!!!” looks I get from friends and family in real life! lol.

Dead vid in the embed. Here’s a surrogate for a little while until it comes back.

Finally the trailer. It looks good and hints at much more. Looks so much better than the all revealing World War Z trailer you cunts keep drooling over. Yes I know its not a zombie movie. But yes you’re still cunts for having no brain to evaluate something of merit as opposed to trash.

    • K-Dogg

Wow, we having a bad day…a bit much don’t ya think!!!!

District 9 is one of my favourite sci-fi films (I hate sci-fi) because not only is it exciting but it has a strong human element too and is creative. This looks very promising, but I wouldn’t think much of it if it had been a different director! It could be amazing, but let’s wait and see! Also, do I spy a bearded Wikus?
