Insanely Bizarre Name Circling Marvel’s ‘Dr. Strange’

CHUD is reporting on a pretty insane casting rumor that, if proven true, would be a brilliant step for Marvel.

Says the site their trusted industry source tells them that Marvel is eyeballing someone that they already have a relationship with for the lead in a confirmed Phase Three projects: Dr. Strange.

Justin Theroux may not only pen the screenplay, but also star as Stephen Strange, Sorcerer Supreme.

And while we’re talkin comics, why not drop the news that “The Walking Dead’s” Michael Rooker will reteam with SLiTHER director James Gunn on Guardians Of The Galaxy, Deadline reports. He will play Yondu, who in Marvel lore was a game hunter of a primitive tribe native to Centauri IV, the first planet system to be colonized outside of the Sun’s solar system. He eventually bands together with fellow fugitives to form the superhero team. Chris Pratt already has been cast, and Disney plans an August 1, 2014 release date.

welp if you throw a goatie on him he does look pretty strangey. but who the hell is this guy? I guess I need to go get my IMDB on ASAP.

  • Lonmonster

I love Justin Theroux! I hope this is for real.

  • HMH

I enjoy Justin. He was on Six Feet Under back in the day.

  • Mr.Mirage

Meh! I always thought Stephen Strange should be David Bowie… but that’s just me.

  • Evan3

Justin writing/directing – great! Justin as an actor… please NO. That guy’s ego has exploded since he landed Aniston. The man simply is a terrible actor (just like Quentin Tarrantino).

  • Meliorn

Im just happy that Dr Strange is getting attention now! Maybe Jim Caveizel, Ed Norton, or Jason Isaacs?

    • Evan3

Pretty sure Marvel has washed its hands of Edward Norton…

  • Evan3

If this happens, I’ll be pissed. Theroux has NO acting talent and marginal writing ability.
