Megadeth Stream New Single “Super Collider”

Thrash metal legends Megadeth have released a stream of “Super Collider”, the title track to their upcoming album that comes out June 4th. The song can be purchased on iTunes here. Super Collider is the followup to 2011’s Thirteen. You can listen to the song below.

Having listened to Megadeth for several years, I can safely say that this is a truly awful song. It’s entirely boring and does nothing to get the blood pumping. It feels safe, which is something Megadeth never was.

Ugh, Mega-Generic! I’ve seen these guys live about a dozen times and have listened to every album. They seem to be getting less thrash/metal with every album. It almost seems they are trying to sell out?!?! After all these years why would they want that now?

  • killrobot

yeah… this is bad. time to go listen to rust in peace over and over again until i forget this song exists.

  • Chainsaw Graphics

Where is Dave Mustaine?? Cause this dude singing is not the Dave I grew up listening to,.. sounds more like Jon Bon Jovi. Nothing will ever top Rust in Peace or Countdown to Extinction.

  • Chainsaw Graphics

Hey Beelzebubba – They sold out on an album years ago.. Risk was an admitted sell out album that Dave says he regrets doing. However the last few albums went back to thrash,.. but this stuff on the new album Im not sure what he is thinking again.

Megadeth has been one of my favorite bands for over a decade, and I have to say this is the worst song they’ve ever done. The System Has Failed, United Abominations and Endgame were all really good albums. 13 had me worried they were headed in the wrong direction, this song confirms that and more…

Horrible. What the fuck is wrong with mustaine lol? He really wants a grammy and will do whatever it takes at this point. Mustaine wants to be loved by soccer moms or something writing this shit. This is right back to that playing it safe “risk” direction. This band was officially done when the released cryptic writings. Youthanasia was their last classic. The rest are hit or miss. This should settle that megadeth-metallica debate once and for all.

I think I wrote this riff back when I was 10 and picked up the guitar for the very first time. Very disappointing.

  • Evil_Flip

I used to be a big megadeth fan but ever since United Abomination it’s just not doing it for me.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Is this an April Fool’s Day prank that has just been mistimed?

For a while there (until the last album) it did look like Megadeth were getting back to being a decent band again. But this?

  • Tarkus

    Hi, I’m new here.

Anyway, I think this sounds almost like a intro theme song. It’s very un-Megadeth which may be intentional. I can almost hear the track fading out and track 2 coming in with a bludgeoning, angular Mustaine riff… At least that’s what I hope.

      Welcome to Bloody Disgusting!

According to the track listing, this song is the second track on the album.

  • Skullbone

Wow…some of the old guards of Thrash seem to be putting out some mediocre stuff and this is well pretty bad.

  • viking1983

megadeth have been shit for years the only band out of the big 4 keeping things going properly are slayer

  • VictorCrowley

Having been a life-long Megadeth fan, I dig the track. Doesn’t get me excited, but I can listen to it. UA, Endgame, and Thirteen were kinda bleh to me. I never understood the rave reviews I read for them. TSHF was pretty solid. Love Youth and can find a mood for Risk.

Hope the rest of the new album has some good stuff on it. Seems like it might be at least pointing in the direction I could get on board with.

  • j.c

Hmmm….yeah, not impressed. Like JB said, its kinda boring. I hope this is not indictive of the tone of the whole album.
