Darren Lynn Bousman Takes ‘Sacrilege’ To Cannes

With Cannes now under way, Red Sea Media has acquired the horror-thriller Sacrilege, to be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, best known for Saw II-IV, The Barrens, Mother’s Day, 11-11-11 and Repo!.

In Sacrilege, a family takes back their son 3 years after he is kidnapped & brainwashed by a devil worshipping cult – now, he would like nothing more than to watch them get murdered. With the cult surrounding their cabin, the family must fight for their lives while trying to undo the damage.

No cast has yet been announced. The film is currently available for all territories worldwide excluding North America.

The film will be produced by Rick Dugdale of Enderby Entertainment through Enderby’s horror division Tony-Seven Films, Sean E. DeMott through Execution Style Entertainment and Chris M. Bonifay through Limb from Limb Pictures.

I love the premise, and it seems it could be taken in many directions. And I like Darren’s style. I haven’t seen Barrens yet but Im interested in that and this.

It sounds like a cool story but I don’t know about his movies after The Barrens. It was boring and made no sense at times. But I hope this works out better because the premise is interesting.

i was surprised i liked THE BARRENS! lol.

I hear ya dj. Without ruining anything for those who haven’t seen it, it started off really interesting and just fizzled into blah in a blink of an eye, IMO. But I still will check this out.
