After premiering at the Stanley Film Festival, Richard Raaphorst’s Frankenstein’s Army will be opening in select cities July 26th. Having just screened, Bloody Disgusting’s Eric Myers was on the scene, stating that “Raaphorst clearly knows what’s scary and what isn’t, and he’s succeeded in creating a fun and creepy midnight monster romp that every horror fan will appreciate.” You can read his review in its entirety by clicking here.
But now, Machima has the premiere of the film’s red band trailer. Watch as “Wolfenstein” comes to life with the insane creations of their own Doctor Frankenstein.
In the film, “Using shocking vintage newsreel footage as his jumping-off point, Raaphorst has hit on a unique and bold premise. Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary’s Frankenstein’s work to assemble an army of supersoldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades – a desperate Hitler’s last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.“
