‘World War Z’ Almost Ended In Moscow – Here’s Visual Proof!

Remember the infamous original ending to Paramount Pictures and Marc Forster’s World War Z we told you about? The original finale took Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) to Moscow where he and the Russian army battled off the zombie hordes with guns that decapitated the undead.

Thanks to storyboard artist David Allcock and concept artist Seth Engstrom we can finally see what was in Michael Straczynski’s screenplay before Damon Lindelof turned it into a trite, bore of a finale. The movie was otherwise pretty good.

Thanks to CBM and David Allock, as well as Seth Engstrom.

I would’ve much rather see this. The new ending was cheap, especially compared to the epic scope of the scenes prior to the lab.

i wish i could have seen what was pulled (above). i’m sure the unused ending will end up on the DVD. at least i hope it will. i DO like the Lindelof ending that was in the movie though. it was intimate, more horror and well done.

I enjoyed the new ending and thought their transfer from huge to small scope was done really well and it definitely had more of a horror feel than what came before it. I’d like to see the original ending though.. I really hope we get to see the battle of Yonkers in the sequel, one of the best times I’ve had imagining what’s going on in a book.
