[Comic-Con ’13] Anchor Bay Exacts Revenge With ‘I Spit On Your Grave 2’ Trailer!

I Spit on Your Grave 2

Anchor Bay Films has released the trailer and date for the next chapter of the controversial I Spit On Your Grave film franchise.

Steven R. Monroe’s I Spit on Your Grave 2 will have a L.A. theatrical engagement on Friday, September 20, 2013 and will be available on Blu-Ray Combo Pack, DVD and On Demand on September 24, 2013.

Naturally beautiful, Jessica (Dallender) has just settled into New York where she, like many other young women, is trying to make it as a model. But what starts out as an innocent and simple photo shoot soon turns into something disturbingly unthinkable! Raped, tortured and kidnapped to a foreign country, Jessica is buried alive and left to die. Against all odds, she manages to escape. Severely injured, she will have to tap into the darkest places of the human psyche to not only survive, but to exact her revenge…

The sequel stars Jemma Dallender (“Community”), Joe Absolom (Long Time Dead), Aleksandar Aleksiev (Jack Ryan), Mary Stockley, Michael Dixon, Valentine Pelka, Yavor Baharov, George Zlatarev, Peter Silverleaf and Georgi Zlatarev.

Anchor Bay Films released I Spit on Your Grave in 2010 to critical acclaim. Based on Meir Zarchi’s 1978 version, the film gained the respect of both mainstream and genre critics.

“I spit on YOUR grave, too !”

Must see. Especially if it has furrburger shots like the original.

  • Kroork

Trailer sucks but I am excited to see this!

i’ll watch this because this director (and the actors of course!) managed to make the remake of part 1 pretty damn good! i’m in.

    • Tomie Kawakami

“managed to make the remake of part 1 pretty damn good”. You’re making it sound like this a sequel to the original. It’s not.

      • djblack1313

Tomie, my point was the director did a great job with the first movie so i will check out this new one. if i had hated the first movie, i wouldn’t bother watching this new one. i’m confused about your “You’re making it sound like this a sequel to the original. It’s not”. what does that have to do with anything?

        • djblack1313

by “original” is you meant the 70’s version then i understand what you’re saying. i was referring to the remake. i hate the 70’s version. i like the remake.

have you ever stopped watching a trailar cause the movie looks so horrible, and you know you wont even give it a chance? they should have just left this alone, the remake and the original were great films, but this looks a cheap version of the remake.

This sequel is so not necessary at all but I’ll give it a chance I guess. I am a fan of the original and remake(especially the remake)but given its the same director I’ll give it a shot.

That trailer was too short. I need a longer one, and yes I saw the remake. Unfortunately it was on regular cable t.v. Oh well life is better anymore and horror is on top of the culture heap! : )

Stephen Monroe, in addition to being a great guy, is a pretty damn good director. I cannot say that I understand the reason for making a sequel to the remake (other than maybe to cash in on its’ success) and I don’t really think it’s a good idea, but I’ll give it a shot. Of course the cast of the first film was really good in the remake, so this one won’t have that going for it, but oh well.

On a note unrelated to the sequel, the remake was filmed near where I live. I met the director and the cast at a convention in 2010 and when they mentioned where it was filmed, I was like, holy shit awesome. 😀

It looks cool! Cant wait to pre-ordered it !!

Recently caught the original remake and as I thought it was great for what it was, I will not be making an effort to watch this sequel. Just not something I need to watch again and I think it would have been better to just do the remake and walk away from it. Seems like a cash in by the director and/or studio to me. Thank’s but no thank’s.
