‘The Drowning’ Brings Console Quality Horror To iOS

The end of the world truly is a beautiful thing. With The Drowning, developer DeNA’s goal was to bring a console-quality first-person shooter to iOS (specifically the iPhone and iPad). Of the many games that have tried, I think this has been the most successful. The only game like this that I’ve really enjoyed on iOS has been Dead Space. It was in the third person, so it was a little clunky.

The Drowning looks like it runs a bit more smoothly, and on top of that it looks gorgeous, creepy, and perhaps best of all, it’s free. Trailer after the jump!

Android fans shouldn’t fret, The Drowning will soon make its way to your neck of the woods.

Looks very good and finally monsters are not zombies 🙂

The game looks great for sure, but the controls leave a LOt to Be desired. Also the in-app purchases are particularly awful and greedy on this one.

Since it’s free, I’ll give it a shot. But I anticipate deleting it fairly quickly. We’ll see.
