[Toys] As Promised, Here’s NECA’s 8-Bit Freddy Krueger Based On the 1989 NES Game!!!

NECA’s hit Comic-Con exclusive “Friday the 13th Classic Video Game Jason” is soon to have some 8-bit company, reports

While NECA teased it as a possibility, they’ve already been hard at work at bringing us the A Nightmare on Elm Street Classic Video Game Appearance Freddy Krueger”!

Released in 1989 for the super popular 8-bit home console, the video game A Nightmare on Elm Street came out the same year as the Friday the 13th adaptation.

The new Freddy figures will will be a fully articulated 7-inch figure done up in that truly horrifying video game deco. Like Video Game Jason, Freddy comes in a special window box packaging with opening flap to re-create the look and feel of the classic 1989 video game packaging.

The best news? You won’t have to wait until next July’s Comic-Con to get your hands on it. Look for NECA’s Freddy Krueger (1989 Video Game Appearance) this November!

Strange, I remember reading about the game A nightmare on Elmstreet video game in Game Pro magazine (That was long before the internet here came along) and I dont remember the game being released to the public! I beat Friday the 13th over the yeras quite a bit though. Both of those figures look bad ass! Looking forward to their release.

The only in I saw for this game was in an OLD Nintendo Power magazine but it was a small tiny written piece about the game in the preview section. However, I could of sworn I might have seen a full 1 side page ad for the game in an issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, I was browsing through the issue at the magazine section from some grocery store. I didn’t subscribe to EGM until ’91 I believe but I was a day 1 subscriber for Nintendo Power all the way up until their final issue. I do remember that the small preview article about the game in Nintendo Power mentioned that you could play as Freddy! I wish that feature wasn’t taken out of the game since I bet it would of turned out to be a better game for Freddy fans
