[Exclusive] Journey Through One Truly Haunted House In A Lot Like Birds’ “Connector” Video Premiere

Published

on

Yesterday we announced that we would be premiering Sacramento, CA-based progressive rock band A Lot Like Birds‘ music video for “Connector” and here it is! The video, which was animated by John Howe, is a phantasmagoric, psychedelic journey through one of the most mind bending houses you’ve ever seen. It’s a visually arresting, incredibly hypnotic video with some truly beautiful visual and artistic styles. I’ll say this, it kept me guessing the whole way through and it’s quickly become one of my personal favorite videos! Check it out below!

“Connector” comes from the band’s new album No Place. You can order it digitally via iTunes or physically via MerchNow.

Vocalist/lyricist Cory Lockwood states, “Even though we put everything we had into painting the picture of the No Place house through words and sound on the album, John Howe crafted a visual tour for all of us, starting in the only place that connects all rooms to one another. If the house is a creature, the hallway is its spine and as it falls apart, so does everything it touches. The deterioration of an entire body of rooms based on the fall of an overlooked structure that holds them together was the founding theme of “Connector”. And as we explored that idea, we noticed more and more. The similarities between passing through a hallway and passing our time, the way we hang pictures of ourselves along the wall but never look at them, the people we run into when we go anywhere (not necessarily as literal as from one room to another in a house) and how easily we view them as obstacles and forget them or figure out better ways to get around them.
