I wish I gave even a modicum of damn about Call of Duty: Ghosts, because the game’s first expansion pack, dubbed Onslaught, absolutely sounds like a horror fan’s delight. The DLC will bring with it four new maps, but the most notable addition is the one called Fog. It’s “an homage to classic horror films” that brings with it a setting — the classic abandoned campsite set in a creepy forest bathed in a thick fog — that should be familiar to any lover of the horror genre.
The best part doesn’t come until you successfully complete an unspecified field order, which gives you the chance to temporarily become Michael Myers, complete with the Halloween theme music that plays after you’ve donned the mask, letting everyone know they’re a few seconds away from being chopped up by his axe.
Yeah, he’s using an axe now. Maybe Myers was intimidated by all the guns, so he decided to forgo his iconic knife in favor of something a little… meatier. Read on to see Onslaught in action.
Onslaught will arrive on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One on January 28th for $14.99, with the other platforms getting it shortly thereafter.
