Now this is interesting. In an interview with Wired, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman discussed what we can expect from the second half of the hit television series’ fourth season, and in doing so, Kirkman teased the intriguing possibility that the show could potentially cross over into Telltale’s episodic series. Specifically, he said “That door is always open for us, though whether or not we step through it remains a big question.”
We’ve seen at least one subtle nod already. Earlier this season, Michonne mentioned a trip to Macon, the town where a portion of the video game’s first season is located. Whether or not they decide to take that a step further — they totally should — is up to Kirman and friends.
“I certainly wouldn’t want to spoil anything cool like that if we had it coming up. Scott Gimple, our showrunner, is certainly a huge fan of that game series as well and very familiar with it. That was a little nod to those fans, to let them know that we’re aware of the greater Walking Dead universe. It’s always fun to come up with those little things.” Kirkman continued.
I have hope we’ll see something like this in the future, and I’m sure I’ll get all giddy when I unknowingly stumble upon it. How about you — is this a crossover you’d like to see?
