M. Night Shyamalan Secretly Directing A New Horror Film!

m-night-shyamalan

After being dubbed the next Spielberg, M. Night Shyamalan has done nothing but disappoint. In fact, I’d say the only movie of his that I like is Unbreakable (and some of Signs).

Even though I’m not the biggest fan – and after his gluttonous years directing hugely budgeted Hollywood pictures – it’s exciting to learn that Shyamalan has come back down to Earth by directing a microbudgeted horror film.

Shyamalan revealed via Twitter that he’s deep into production on his top secret Sundowning, which features the works of Darren Aronofsky collaborators costumer Amy Westscott (Black Swan,The Wrestler), production designer Therese DePerez (Black Swan) and the French cinematographer Maryse Alberti (The Wrestler).

Any guesses? Sounds like a vampire movie to me.

I haven’t seen anything of his since Lady in the Water, but I wouldn’t mind seeing what he could do with a micro-horror. Excited to hear more.

I’m hoping he can eventually bounce back strongly being a fan of his earlier efforts. The last good thing in my opinion he was involved in was Devil. With such good memories of The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Village & Devil, I’m willing to still have faith in him. We’ll see if he can deliver.

Sorry, but he is fresh off directing Will and Jayden in ‘After Earth’.

It’s not that he’s stopped, it’s that studios don’t want people knowing his name is attached, hence TV ads for After Earth not showing the directors name. I didn’t even know he directed it, until I saw it on Blu-Ray.

He can surround himself with all the talent he wants, he’s the issue, though.

I don’t know anything about this movie, but I have already guessed the ending. :p

He was really dubbed the next Spielberg? Wow. I’m not excited for this in the slightest.
