With the Academy Awards just days away, Zombeavers is campaigning for an Oscar of their own – best poster.
Bloody Disgusting has been on the forefront of all things Zombeavers, the new hottest genre film that nobody has yet to see.
While we wait for some sort of premiere news, we at least get to sit back and enjoy the brilliant marketing campaign.
Friday night THR scored a series of “Oscar” posters for the horror comedy, putting said “Zombeaver” in posters for Gravity, Her and American Hustle.
Directed by Jordan Rubin, Zombeavers follows a rampage of killer beavers hunting college students. And while the film from the producers of The Ring and Cabin Fever is said to be a horror comedy, Rubin knows how to make it work.
“To me it’s all about doing it straight” he tells the mag assuring fans it’s not the next Sharknado. “ It’s a serious situation. It’s pure horror. Playing to the reality is so funny.”
The best horror comedies take themselves seriously – and the best horror films are serious but fun. That is the GOLDEN rule for modern horror.
Starring Cortney Palm, Lexi Atkins, Rachel Melvin, Hutch Dano and Jake Weary, “Zombeavers is an action-packed horror/comedy in which a group of college kids staying at a riverside cabin are menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers. A weekend of sex and debauchery soon turns gruesome as the beavers close in on the kids. Riding the line between scary, sexy and funny, the kids are soon fighting for their lives in a desperate attempt to fend off the hoard of beavers that attack them in and around their cabin.”
