Anchor Bay UK Resurrects ‘World War Dead: Rise of the Fallen’

Anchor Bay Entertainment UK has announced that it has signed a co-production agreement with Next Level Films and that feature film World War Dead: Rise of the Fallen (no, it’s not a Transformers or World War Z sequel) will be helmed by directing duo Bart Ruspoli and Freddie Hutton-Mills, Bloody Disgusting learned.

The film will star Ray Panthaki (28 Days Later, City Rats, Kidulthood), Wendy Glenn (You’re Next) and Kacey Barnfield (Resident Evil, Green Street 3).

To celebrate the centenary of WW1, a TV Documentary team travels to the Somme to put together a ratings smash about new mysteries relating to the famous battle. However, what they unearth is far from a new story of those that died 100 years ago – but an army of the undead and a brand new war.

Next Level Films will produce through its genre label Atomic Level Films.

World War Dead: Rise of the Fallen begins filming now.
