Ernie Hudson Has No Idea When ‘Ghostbusters 3’ Will Begin Filming

I love Ernie Hudson, who plays Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters film series, but the dude clearly has no idea what’s going on with Columbia Pictures’ Ghostbusters 3 development hell. I mean, he’s too busy signing autographs at your local comic convention to be in the know, right?

Whatever the case may be, Film Dumpster caught up with Hudson at the Niagara Falls Comic Con (where else?!) and asked him for an update on the long-gestured project that’s currently eyeing Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer to direct.

“I think we’re going to start shooting in the fall, or maybe the spring…once again, it kind of changes a bit…and I’m always reluctant to say anything because they tell me one thing and then it doesn’t happen.”

Hudson also speaks on the passing of Harold Ramis.

“It’s unfortune, you know, Harold is not here. Harold was the glue…he was amazing. He was an icon. So you’re going to get a GHOSTBUSTERS, but obviously it’s going to be a GHOSTBUSTERS without Harold.

It’s going to be different. So it [part 3] has to be original and it has to be something that is worth all the 30 years of waiting.”

Hearing him acknowledge that Ramis was “the glue” isn’t comforting at all. I really, really want a new Ghostbusters film, but I want it to have the heart and soul of the first two. The fact that Fleischer has a relationship with Bill Murray is sort of the only thing giving me comfort right now.
