The original Revelations was (mostly) set on a luxury cruise liner called the Queen Zenobia. The tight corridors did a fine job in making the environments feel as claustrophobic as the abandoned halls of the Spencer mansion. Capcom hasn’t divulged any details regarding when or where Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be set, but its brand newly launched website may be hinting at at least one of the possible settings for the upcoming game.
Upon visiting the official site you’re greeted by the sounds of a brewing storm and a restless ocean beneath it that stretches out to a lone island. We can’t know for sure — at least not until Capcom offers some new details at TGS later this month — but this mystery island could be the setting for part or possibly even all of the game.
Going from an abandoned cruise liner adrift at sea to a small, lonely island feels natural. If it proves true, it would bring up even more questions, like whether or not it will be as linear as Revelations.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is slated to release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in early 2015.
