When I was younger, my babysitter’s boyfriend snuck into the house we were in and hid in the tub with the curtain drawn. His goal was to scare the girl, but instead he got me. The trauma of that night had me checking empty showers for years. I gradually got over it, but even today, there’s a 50/50 chance that I’ll still check behind any drawn shower curtains.
Whatever I expected to see waiting for me in the tub, even my troubled young mind wouldn’t have imagined a screaming four-armed blood witch. If the things I expected to see behind that curtain were as frightening as this cosplayer’s take on Laura from The Evil Within, there’s a solid chance I’d be writing this story with my finger on the wall of a padded cell.
If the cosplayer looks familiar, I thought so too. That’s why I decided to sift through all my cosplay coverage — turns out, that’s a lot of cosplay — until I found this piece from over two years ago.
Turns out, the woman in the red dress moonlights as a woman in a red tub.
