With a lot of news and publicity coming out about Paul Feig’s upcoming remake of Ghostbusters, there have been a lot of questions about the supposed cameo from original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd, who played Ray Stantz in the original two films. Well, according to Indie Revolver, his cameo has now been brought to full light.
Update: Sony has reps contacting sites asking for this information to be pulled in order to save the surprise for fans. Hard to argue that. You snooze you lose, guys!
And there you have it. That’s what Paul Feig is doing with Aykroyd for the new film. Is it a nice nod to the originals? Sure. Is it clever? I guess so. Is it a waste of talent and opportunity? Absolutely.
I really hope they do something unique and original with this. The Ghostbusters universe is so ripe for interesting and engaging stories.
