SPOILER: “The Walking Dead” to Add Major Character In Season 6

AMC’s sixth season of “<>The Walking Dead” has yet to premiere and already there is confirmation that a major character will be joining the show in its final episode. Now, this is a major revelation, so I’m going to get the show details out of the way and then, if you want, you can head below to see who’s on the docket.

“The Walking Dead” is executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero and Tom Luse and stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin-Green, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Tovah Feldshuh, Ross Marquand, Alexandra Breckenridge and Austin Nichols.

The sixth season will premiere on October 11th.

Alright, still with me? Good, let’s get to this!

According to The Spoiling Dead, the final episode of the sixth season of “The Walking Dead” will introduce none other than Negan, the utterly insane and ruthless man who forces communities to pay him in exchange for protecting them from zombies.

Those who have read the comics know that Negan is responsible for some truly horrific events, including the death of one of the main characters (although I won’t say who). While Rick and company have managed to make it this far, it’s pretty much undeniable that Negan is going to be the biggest challenge they’ve faced.

Here’s the full casting call for “Orin”, an almost certain nickname that is being used to cover the fact that they want Negan:

About fucking time. Can’t fucking wait ti see him, Fucking A!

  • Mr. Dry

Just imagine Jon Hamm on that role…

    • Vicente Garcia

JESUS. CHRIST. I never had, but now I will accept no one other than The Hamm.

    • MaryMaria

      That would be fantastic!

    • Kenneth Tanner

Jon Hamm would be brilliant for the role !
      Perfect choice!

  • K-Dogg

And why should it take this long to get to Negan? All the way to the end of this season, my goodness they sure drag the hell out of this show.

    • Jeremy

It’s right on time, though? We have to deal with the Scavengers (or Wolves, as they’re called in the show), No Way Out (the walkers getting into Alexandria), meeting Jesus, going to Hilltop, meeting Gregory, learning of Negan, then, finally, Negan. If anything, this should be the one season WITHOUT filler.

      • Brett Wolfe

Yeah, I’ve come to realize that most people complaining about Negan taking too long have most certainly NOT read the comics.

  • brewers_rule

Funny because I was just talking about this w/a coworker yesterday how the creators kept saying ‘not right now’ yet everything I dug up through Wiki about Negan seems to indicate unless they deviated a LOT from the source material, it’d be natural to introduce him by this season’s end in some sort of cameo lead in to next year. Now, if we can just get confirmation Kevin Durand gets the role, woo hoo!

    • Kim

Kevin Durand is the only person I can see in the role, but I don’t know if it’s possible because of The Strain and that makes me sad.

  • Dr. Storm Crow

Is it weird I always pictured Bruce Campbell as Negan? I know it probably won’t happen, but I always liked that casting.I feel Campbell could nail Negan’s sardonic tone.

  • Tanner the Spanner

I could totally be Negan. Now to find some barbed wire to wrap Lucille in.

  • Michael Mc Carthy

I thought it would be Shiva, i think season 6 is going to drag on now. I thought he would be introduced at the half point….

    • Yakushiji Tenzen

hell no. If you’ve read the comic you know there is still A LOT to cover before Negan. I’m glad it’s this way. I DO NOT want it to catch up with the source material like GoT did.

      • Michael Mc Carthy

Like what? There’s the present storyline which should have already wrapped up and certainly can’t go on another full season. Unless they throw in an original storyline, this season or at least its second half will be full of filler….

        • Jeremy

There’s the Wolves (Scavengers), No Way Out (the herd of walkers getting into Alexandria), meeting Jesus, going to Hilltop and meeting Gregory, learning of Negan, the introduction of Dwight, and then finally Negan. It should make for a tight, nonfiller season. I don’t know what you’re thinking of haha.

          • Michael Mc Carthy

Well they have done herds before in the show numerous times already (season 2 opening) unlike the comic which held back. Hilltop was a re-run of Alexandria (our way or the highway, it’s a bit stale now). Honestly I found that portion of the comics a bit middling and dull but that’s just my opinion. Obviously I’m very interested in how they’ll handle the prosthetics for one character though…

          • Jeremy

Well the No Way Out herd is necessary. It’s not like a one episode herd, it’s a massive one that they would never skip in the show. It’s it’s own storyline. Hilltop has to happen too. There was no way they were skipping this stuff haha.

          • Weresmurf

Incidentally, strong rumours abound that “No Way Out” is culminating in 6.8 along with Carls *AHEM*…

  • J Jett

Deadline is reporting that the new season 6 character is Jesus (i guess he’s a new comic character) and he’ll be played by Tom Payne.

  • P Cook

Oh yeah! I vote for Dominic Purcell as Negan.

  • Ben_Jammin

Angus Macfadyen, Only problem is he’s so hilarious acting as a psychopath that it would be hard to hate him! Watch the movie .45 and you’ll see what I mean.

  • Kenneth Tanner

From my prospective I’ll go with John Hamm, he’ll be wonderful for this role. Not saying by his acting skill but the looks are pretty much identical compare to Negan from the comic series and John Hamm. Even his hair line looks like his. lol
John Hamm would be perfect !
